The Orthodox Cathedral Church of the holy mother of God (Sveta Bogoroditsa in Bulgarian) is situated at the crossing of Otets Paissiy and 6, Saborna Street.
St Marina Church |
It is located at 7, Dr. Georgi Vulkovich Street, on the southern slopes of Trimontium, under the Ancient Theatre. This is the Metropolitan Church.
St Demetrius Church |
The Orthodox church of St. Demetrios (Sveti Dimitar in Bulgarian) was built during 1830 – 1838. It is situated at 1, Todor Samodumov Street, opposite the Yellow School.
St Nedelya Church |
It is located at 40, Petko R. Slaveykov Street. The church was built in its present appearance in 1831 – 1832 by the master builder from Bratsigovo Petko Petkov.
St. St. Constantine and Helena Church |
St.Constantine and Helena Church was is considered the oldest Christian temple in Plovdiv due to its ancient and dramatic history. The holy temple is located at 24 Saborna Str in the Old town architectural complex. It was built in the 4th century on the ruins of the antique fortress in the old town of Plovdiv.
The church of St. Petka |
It was built in the year 1836, again on the ruins of older temples.There is an ancient icon of St. Ivan Rilski, which is of exceptional value, along with some icons, painted by Zahari Zograf and Nikola Îdrinchanin.
